Fosse - what are you missing?

Robert Louis “Bob” Fosse (June 23, 1927 – September 23, 1987) was an American actordancermusical theatre choreographerdirectorscreenwriterfilm editor and film director. He won an unprecedented eight Tony Awards for choreography, as well as one for direction. He was nominated for an Academy Award four times, winning for his direction of Cabaret. Introduction to Bob Fosse

Now, hopefully you did watch the videos. Now what are you missing?

Bob should of been an Animator, the silhouettes are precise, the timing is beautiful (doesn't need the music to still show attitude). The stories, the women: are portrayed as different, not just as props to further the movement of the dance but as in the attitudes that are shown. Exaggeration comes naturally to the "stylized" performance.

What you can learn from Fosse? That movement is meaning and attitude is life.

Inspired by the musical, choreographed by Rob Marshall.

Thank you and to next time, happy animating.
